Hand control is rather easy to work actually... Mine has the 3x steering so no issues to be found with that working points on windy days.... plus you skip the power drive foot control issues everyone mentions or the backache from the maxxum pedal the others mention... Take my hands off the reel?? heck, I use my knee to steer the thing... it takes about a day to get used to the hand control... after that you never want to go back to a pedal...

also with reconditioned its not a Full warranty, I think its a 1 year where new has 3.. but would have to double check that one... Cabelas has best prices on reconditioned that I found, most of the minn kota dealers I contacted were higher by sometimes as much as $100 depending on the unit...
