Hey Doug,

This is your next door neighbor from Indian Pt Camp this July. How's it going? I bent a skeg on a 90 Johnson on the 'goon a couple years ago and straightened it with a small sledge hammer. I don't know if I was very smart when I did this, and I'm not recommending this apporoach, but the skeg didn't break. It was bent about a 1/4" from top to bottom. I had to hit her fairly good to get her straight. I hit it about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the skeg on the thickest part of the skeg. Like the others said, don't try to fix until the season is over, just in case! Have a good one.
