Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot		One thing I use is our "spot vac" handheld carpet cleaner. It's kind of a pain to us because of it's size, but it sucks the water out well and cleans the carpet at the same time. Every year I'll soap down the carpet and run this over it and it does wonders keeping the carpet looking good. You'd also be amazed how much dirt and junk you get out of your carpet.
