I do know they should be done with care. I have gone through the second one on my 620. The first one was factory and the replacement was done by my marine service department. I just cut off 3/4 of the gard becaues it was comming free.

Long story short..........Don't pinch a penny unless you get the best info and follow it to the letter.

I am going to remove all the glue and run without one if the rest comes off.

It saves the hull but if it gets hit the gard will loosen up and start to come off, now you still have a problem to address. It's hard to see the scratches on the bottom of the boat anyway.
