| I thought at that time, that I did need a new lower unit, but it seems that there was just a broken locking ring inside. The deal that holds the prop shaft in place had snapped. That is also a part that is unavailable, but they were able to weld it back together.
The gears that I thought were wrecked, were actually fine. Even if I did get a new lower unit, it would be quite old, and there would be no guarantee that the prop seals on that one would be in good working order either. The guy is still looking, but it's beginning to look like I'll have a motor that runs perfectly, except it won't go anywhere. That stinks.
I do have a new option available though. I picked a bunch of numbers, and if those same numbers are picked tomorrow night, I'll be a millionairre! Then all my problems will be solved. Wish me luck. Ha ha. | |
