I could use a little advice...

I'm thinking of making a small rear casting deck (about 18") for my Tuffy Renegade which would involve moving the seats forward about 6". This would be nice for my (older) Dad and others who fish outta the back.

The casting deck design I got down, but am unsure about what's involved with moving the pedestals forward. Can you walk me thru the steps? Anything to worry about in drilling those new holes? Should I plan to put down new carpet for the floor?
