Don't get me wrong, I love my 1700. It handles big water better than any other 17'er I've been in and fishes VERY well. I'd take it over a 17' alum tiller any day. But it ain't quick by any stretch.

The motor is running at 5500, not 6500 as I wrote earlier. I put on my spare 11p alum prop which is in very good condition and chugged along at 28-29 this weekend. I'm strongly considering the venegeance 12p...
