| Hello. My Maxxum 55 had the same problem. I almost lost the pin one day last summer, about 80% out.Tap the pin out and file off just maybe a 1/16 or so off the inside of the shoulder so the pin sticks farther out when you tap it back in. Then I took a small dab of JB weld and carefully glued a thin flat washer on to the end of the pin. Probably not the best fix, but at the time Minn Kota didn't offer a longer pin for replacement. Be very careful with the JB Weld though, you don't want to glue the pin to the mount on the motor. If you don't want to try the epoxy, you can pop out the pin and drill app. 3/4'' from the inside of the shoulder with a small bit and tap the pin back in place. Then pop in a cotter pin. The pin still works its way outa 1/4'' or so, but at least it won't fall out. | |
