I have an 05 Navagator 175 and I can fit 8' rods in both rod lockers. Have him take a tape rule to the dealer and check a 2006 model. The specs in the brochure for my 05 said 7' but the rod lockers are open beyond the front deck bulkhead. It is a great multi-species boat. Bob
