most comparisons I have seen done between etec and 4 strokes they seem to be comparing about a 90hp motor to other 90's.. with that said a etec is more fuel efficient, has better emissions, is as quiet and almost always lighter then comparable 4strokes. It is only when you get down to the 40 & 50 etecs that the weight is a issue, a regular 2 stroke usually weighs in about 180-190lbs, a 4 stroke honda weighs about 220lbs, merc about 204-216 for a 40hp, and for a 50 248lbs, Yamaha is 191 for the 40 and 237 for the 50, suzuki 40/50 243lbs, etec 40/50/60 240lbs

just double checked the honda weight, they are lighter this year, about 212lbs
