Just my twocents worth. I have been running a 4stroke 50hp Mercury for six years now. I have had only one problem with it. It only took the mechanic an hour to fix. Anyway I have no Qualms with my motor. I can run on a full tank of gas(21 gal. tank) for about 8 weekends of some hardcore fishing. There is hardly any noise at idle speed, you can actually talk to your fishing partner. It has always started and it was made in the U.S.A. Thats all i Have to say about that.
