i can see your point.once in a while if the boat is on the trailer i will do it the old fashioned way,nothing wrong with that,and i have never used a torque wrench either,just need to tighten it up.i guided with a 50 yamaha for 7 years and mostly used the pump to change the oil,and this motor had some hours on it.i beleive if you change it often you get a lot of less sludge,rather than letting it go to long.synthetic is the way to go,more expensive,but then so are engines.
