It's getting Harder and Harder to find Pure Gas ( No Ethanol or other Junk ) but that stuff won't hurt your motor other than you will need to check fuel lines more often as Ethanol can degrade some rubber.

I have run 97 Octane in my Motor ( 2001 Merc 90hp 4-Stroke) from day 1 and it still runs like it's new, clean and quiet.

As Far as Oil in your Gas Tank like the others have said Drain and refill with fresh gas, If you want to be extra sure drain, fill with fresh gas ( Only 1/4 to 1/2 tank ) pull the boat around the block a couple of times to slosh it around a little then drain and put the gas in your wifes car, re-fill and you should be good to go
