There are some GREAT deals out there from Marinas on used 4 strokes if you take the time to call them up or look on websites...we got our 50 hp 1 year old with basically no hours on it for 40% of retail....
for example ...mw marine near milwaukee wi has a 2001 25 hp 4 stroke merc with power trim/tilt, electric start for about 2300
i'm sure that could be talked down under 2k ...
