I think mskyhter is right, I think that if your boat does not have high sides you might do all right, but I would highly suggest waiting and possible looking around on ebay or other sights for something that has a little more power. Because like someone mentioned, you will manage just fine on not so windy days, but you get 15 to 20 mph winds and that will be different story. I tell anyone that is looking at getting a trolling motor to always go at least one size larger than recommended, because that is one thing that just *ucks if your underpowered!
