I've settled on the luaun plywood with a heavy dose of water seal. Glue then staple the carpet. I found some of the same self-tapping screws the mfg. used to attach the completed skirt to the fender (never thought Lowes would have them but they did!). I think I can build each fender then mount the completed product to the trailer without moving the boat. Turns out my trailer mfg. is out of business, but the guy who answered the phone at the old number still sells trailers and he was very helpful. thanks, m
