Any problems with trolling motors, especially Minn Kota's I would suggest that you try BassBoatCentral (http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com) and scroll to electronic and trolling motors section. John Jones is a service rep with MK. He'll help you out.

I know that the foot controls have to be kept clean. I have even dunked mine in the lake which seems to help. But they just don't last like they should.

Maybe I dunk 'em too much ????
