Waves and big water are perspective terms.... Your definition of big water may very well be different than mine.

Here's the best I can give you... I've had it on lakes up to 5,000 acres, and rivers that are 1/8 mile wide, and I've had it in waves up to 2 footers and felt safe. In any kind of water the semi-v jons will offer a much less choppie ride than the flat bottoms.

If you are looking for something that will handle 3+ footers on a consistent basis and give you a smooth ride I recommend you look at a v-hull boat.
