| Personally, I have used many many many different locators, and when it comes to actual fishing applications, give me a flasher over any LCD any day. I want a locator for two things, to tell me how deep the water is and if there is anything between me and the bottom.
I'm sick of running off of steep breaks and watching my LCD try to catch up while it says I'm in 650 feet of water.
Give me a flasher that tells me how deep the water is. How steep the break is by the width of the band on the display, and one that can keep up with bottom changes as they happen in real time.......not while the unit searches for the bottom for a minute.
I think next year I'll be running a pair of FL-8's, or Zercoms if they still make a flasher unit.
Oh no, I've turned into a grumpy old man. But I'd still do just as well with an old Green Box!
