I will chime in on this one... While I currently fish out of a Ranger 690 and absolutely love the layout, I agree with Treats on this one.

I have several friends who fish out of 19-21 foot bass boats and one of my best friends has a 620.. and if I could afford a new rig with the choices being 620 or Z series... I would have to lean pretty heavy toward the Z series. I was very impressed with what I saw in looking at the Z series at Frankies this spring, and from what I'm hearing they will run across 2-3 footers very easy with a dry smooth ride, of course the ride of any boat will most be determined by how it is driven..!

Like you 95% of my fishing is WI with several trips a year to MN. Either style will serve you well, you'll need to decide what layout you like best and go from there.
