I have had the same problem with my Champion 194. I'm sure it is a kink in your vent hose - to temporarily solve the problem take an airhose and blow down the vent tube from where you fill the tank. You will hear a gurgling noise, stand back and the main line will spit some gas and open - then you can filler to the top with no problems. I have at times just used a straw at a gas station and blow like crazy to open the vent. Best thing is to follow the vent hose and find the kink. Best of luck.
