Greetings,

I used to run two 31 series batteries in my boat, and I realized they were too heavy and a bit oversized for my needs. i went to 27 series two seasons ago, and they worked our great. I will be in need of new batteries at some point I am guessing in the next three months. I was wondering if you felt I could get away with two 24 series/size batteries(was looking at Interstate). I have a boat similar in size to a Tuffy Esox Magnum, and use a 74 lb. Minn Kota AP 24 volt. I use it extensivelly, often for long days. I typically have access to power to charge each night, but on occasion would require enough juice to get me through two days, or a day and a half. The weight savings would be substantial for me, and I was wondering if others use the 24 size/series in their 24 volt system with similar rigs. I am running Dekka batteries now, like em alot, but can no longer find them. A recomendation on battery brand other than optima that others have had good luck with would also be helpful. I really have not had bad luck with any, but would prefer to stay away from Fleet Farm and Northern brands as they were not the best performers in the past for me.

Thanks!!!
