Spent time on Friday with Eric Olsen (pro walleye fisherman) who was at the Miami Boat Show. He was there on Evinrude's behalf. We talked quite a while about 4 strokes, 2 strokes and E-Tec motors. He made a convincing argument for the new E-tec motors. They produce more actual horsepower than their rating as opposed to most 4 strokes that produce up to 10% less than advertised. The no break-in period, 3 year warranty, no service for 3 years or 300 hours, fuel economy and environmental features convinced me. In addition, until April 15th, they are offering a 7 year warranty free if purchased through participating dealers. Check with your dealer to see about the deal.
