My 150 Otpi doesn't like to be idled too far in no wake zones in summer water temps or it will overheat. Opti's need a ton of water presure to stay cool. You should consider buying the service manual for your motor. It can be very helpful when you are somewhere remote and don't have a mechanic to look at your motor. The manual will tell you what the alarm you are hearing is indicating. For instance a solid tone alarm is an overheat. A rapid tone is a oil alarm. They have many different tones each indicating something different.
