Opti is a two stroke... What they will discontinuing is traditional carburated motors.

Fuel injected two strokes such as Merc's Opti, Yamaha's HPDI, and Bombardier's FICHT or E-TECH will be around for many years to come. Some of them have a more clean emission rating than the four strokes. All of this is driven by the 2006 EPA mandate. There will always be an ample supply of parts for prior production motors, just the same as it being easy to find a part for a 20 year old Merc or Johnson now.

No worries...this is just a natural progression the same as seeing carburated engines no longer being used in automobiles...But ya know my EFI 350 Chevy is better than any carburated 350 I ever owned.
