I would check to make sure that the bunks are not rotted. I had this happen once and the screws from the bunks scratched the hull. Which was giving it resistances on a fiberglass boat. The carpeting on the bunks were hiding the problem. As they were conforming to the hull. When there was no load on it, there didn't seem to be a problem. Just a thought?
