Trojan batteries are high quality. I just purchased two SCS225s. You would be hard pressed to find a better battery. Unless, you need to store your batteries on a non-level surface buy Trojan over sealed maintnance free Deep Cycles like Optima.

Take a look at their website, never seen a more detailed site with great information about battery maintanence and general deep cycle knowledge. This is a sure mark of quality.

You can be confident in my opinion. I am a elctro/mechanical engineer that spent about 4 weeks deciding what batteries I wanted. Degrees aside, I put this batteries in my boat and they flat out impressed the sh*t out of me. Only downside was installing them; I spent about 4 hrs trying to squezze the batteries into my Lund's batt. storage. Moreover, I even spoke to Trojan's tech service and put thier applications engineer on the spot. He knew his stuff and seemed to be downright honest.

Lastly, I would avoid Excide at all costs as they are on the verge of bankruptcy. MinnKota looks to be switching thier contract with Excide to Trojan, more evidence about the quality of Trojan.
