I will try to clarify my stance on the verado since my last post did not have all my insights and some thoughts may have been misconstrued. My overall OPINION on the verado and or E-Tec is I would not purchase one due to it being new technology that is not proven in the outboard industry. I would not want to be one of the “Guinea Pigs” in the market to run this motor. Since I work in the IT industry I am very familiar with deployment of new technology to the industry. Most of the time I feel the customers/consumers of these products are the test beds for the manufacturers. I am looking at upgrading to a newer walleye boat in the 98-2002 year with 225hp. I have done much research on the DFI motors regardless of mfg. I have emailed and conversed with tons of mechanics, fishermen and others in the industry regarding these motors. From origination through 2001 or so most everybody recommended to stay away from these motors no matter the mfg. The technology was not perfected. The mfg’s are starting to perfect the technology behind the DFI. My thoughts are that I wanted a boat/motor combo that would last the next 7 years or so. My overall opinion would be to wait until the motor and technology behind the motor prove themselves
