Steve,

I tried dropping you a note a few weeks ago. I must have an out-dated email addy. I'll be in the market for a new rig before too long, and my old man is going to get one this Spring. Drop me a note, please, at [email protected]

Question on the pics above: Does that back lip on teh rod locker make it tough to get the rods in the bottom tubes? Most center rod lockers I've seen have the back wall connected to the lid, so it looks like an "L" that closes down over the top of the opening.

Also, putting a rod in the top tube must put a lot of stress on it with a heavy reel bouncing around on the back end. Have you thought of putting in a system to support the reel-end of the rod? Something like removeable bungees or straps that stretch across and provide something to rest the handles on seems like a good idea to me. Then again, I know I bang up my rods worse than that by piling them on top of each other in my standard rod locker...

I have a 1700 (not the 1760) and it's a phenominal rig for two guys. It'll be all over Leech this weekend. I bet the 1700 will be re-designed in the future. If it's at all possible, I'd love to see it rated for a 75. If I remember correctly, we talked about that and it's not possible???

John
