| I too have them. Been running them for 5 yrs at least. They run cooler that grease units and are so easy to change the lube vs. grease.
Grease hubs you have to pull rip out the oil seal, clean hub & bearings (very messy), repack the bearings (even messier) and slap them back to the proper tightness.
With the lubes, I unscrew the plug, let drain, check for tightness, refill. It's so easy!!! These unit are "sealed" unlike grease hub, so water should not get into them. If they do get water into the oil, the oil will change color and you know that you have to change the oil (might be smart to change the oil seal as well). This idea is not new as semis have been running them for ages. | |
