Advantage is the price. I just bought a stratos with another Johnson two sroke. I went with the carb because the price. I also have a 1984 115 johnson and never had a problem with it. Until they get the weight down on the four strokes I will never buy one. Disadvantages are, if you troll carb builds up and may foul plugs more often. Never had that problem. You wont see them probably after 2006. Talk to a local mechanic an he will go into specifics with you. The better fuel economy isnt all that much like they brag it up to be. Two strokes Can Not be beat for holeshot and speed. I dont know much about the 125 Merc as far as history goes.
