My 17 ft center console has a bow rail around the front that eliminates the use of a bow mounted trolling motor. I have rigged a standard transom mount electric trolling motor and it works but is bothersome to say the least. In the way of outboard in hard turn, have to raise before tilting, etc.

Has anyone ever used the engine mounted electric trolling motors? They bolt on above your cavitation plate and you turn them by turning your outboard. How do they work? Great? So So? Not to great? Terrible?

Thanks
