I'd say Down easters, too. But I have Scotty's with the flush mounts. They are plebty strong, but they will tend to pop up and back with big, hard pulling baits.

One thing with the Down Easter. Do not use cork handled rods while trolling. The corks gets chewed up. Cork handled rods are ok for soaking suckers, though.
