In MN you will also need to kill the fish in order to receive the standard state recognition status by weight.

There is a catch and release version now for pure strain muskies in MN. I am not exactly sure what that requirements are needed to be certified though. Maybe at least one witness and detailed photos of the length?

As others have stated, forget the livewell and use a muskie net.
