Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | FW, I was in a Ranger dealership and they had me going on a 617 full windshield with a 150 opti 5 years ago. At that time the price was $28,000. Needless to say after I got out of the dealership where the sparklies weren't affecting my judgement I promptly canceled my order.
There are a lot of other boats you can spend that kind of money on and get another 1'-2' and 50hp for the same money TODAY. Don't get me wrong, Rangers are very nice boats and the fit and finish is second to none. But if you want the most boat for the buck, most any brand will give you more. I priced out one of Rangers bassboats against retail on mine and came out about $10,000-$12,000 difference with the same motor.
Like I said before, for that kind of money you can pick-up a 2-3 year old 620 and have a boat you'll never grow out of and be probably be more happy with in the long run. Lots of room for the family, and WAY more storage then the 617.
At the end of the day you have to buy the boat that's right for you. If your not happy with the boat you own, it's not worth it at any price. |
