The blue PP works NP all the way threw Carbons so you should be good.

I remember G1/G2 being pretty much the same, and the G3 being a solid step up, but probably recommend looking at a carbon if you decide to stay with Lowrance.

Couple reasons; you can run the 3-D transducer with the Carbons for a future upgrade, the 3-D transducer is a big step up from the LSS-1 and 2 transducers. The Carbon also has dual processors, which makes it noticeable faster than the G3. I've had good luck upgrading with used units to 1 step under the latest model, hard to beat the 12” screen. Glad to hear fishing is good.
