Location: north central wisconsin | Hey guys/gals, up on a Vilas trip now and my gen 1 hds 10 mao/nav decided not to update any longer unless I'm going over 1mph. I can't recall changing any settings and presently looking for the track smoothing setting if there is one. The backlight also continually blinks, which my hds 7 doesn't do if plugged into same supply, so I do believe unit is on the 'blink' pun intended. . I'll be advancing to new birds or Garmin once I know if losing job or not later this summer. For now, looking to replace this unit with something I can plug into the same plugs. Was there a great upgrade to gen 2 units? Hds 12 touch screens ok? Several on ebay for fair enough price. Just need to get by for another year(ish). For reference I replaced my lcx 111 with this gen 1 hds 10 last year and I felt the 111 was nicer over my years of ownership so I am curious re the gen 2s and later, but again I do desire to plug/play with my old blue connectors.
Thanks in advance for any experience related advice. On a positive note, the fish are moving in Vilas, having a great camping trip with my daughter, albeit as busy as I've ever seen it.
