I mounted one 12" in dash and the other directly above using just the bracket that came with the unit, absolutely nothing more solid except in-dash. I really like that they are stacked close together for viewing both units, in easy reach, and while motoring it's as low as possible for the best field of vision.

I use the larger long arm RAM mount for my #3 unit that can be moved front/back deck depending on cast/troll, although they are not as solid as the mounts already mentioned in the post above, I already had this RAM mount and like that the unit can easily be folded flat to the deck when not in use... works 100% great for this but would not recommend a RAM mount for the dash if you do a lot of running on large water because they can sag.
