putting one of the larger 4 strokes may not allow the boat to sit level in the water at rest.

Merc ProXS 115:
359lbs
2.1L displacement
2.07:1 gear ratio

Yamaha VMAX 115
377lbs
1.8L displacement
2.15:1 gear ratio

Etec 115HO and G2 115HO:
390lbs
1.7L and 1.9L displacement
2.0:1 and 2.08:1 gear ratio

Suzuki DF115
401lbs
2.04L displacement
2.59:1 gear ratio

Hence the word "MAY" not sit level.. with the HEAVIER 4 strokes.

In this case, both 2 stroke and 4 stroke motors are very close as you have pointed out, so there is a good chance it would be very little change in how the boat sits...

You missed the Honda as well... it comes in a 478 pounds, and over 2.3 L for displacement. It'd be the strongest 4 stroke of the ones listed, but also the heaviest.

The Johnson 120 weighs in around 370 pounds.

At this point, going 2 or 4 stoke is pretty darn close...they are all good motors... a 4 blade most likely should not be needed on this rig.
