Subject: Help Removing Old Trolling Motor

At the end of my rope on this one. My new to me 2001 ESOX Mag came with an 18 year old Pinpoint trolling motor, which I do not intend to use. It has six bolts attaching it to the boat, with a system that appears to be a more primitive version of the current MotorGuide "nut within the rubber tube" expansion system. Carefully tried to turn them out with a screwdriver, and nothing happened except they spin more freely, but clearly are not backing out. Thought about drilling them out, but of course since they are loose all they do is spin if you put a drill on them. Mounting bracket is still tight as a drum to the top of the boat deck.

Anyone have a solution for me to try?

Thanks in advance.
