Location: minocqua, wi. | I've been driving Diesels for 20 years. I've never had a chevy but multiple Dodge and Fords. Diesel Trucks are "different" ... same truck 10 years after use as the one you bought (sans cosmetics) if you re-build front ends at mileage, maintain and repair and my experience is that 300k miles are pretty easy before putting in new transmissions and other major catastrophic failures. They are all just built different. Rust and body will be a problem long before motor and drive train ...
To the point above ... the fuel cost advantage became a disadvantage in 2008 and has gotten progressively worse for diesel owners. I may do the same as G-Rome on my next vehicle for that reason. |
