Yeah, you would think this large brain trust of outboard motor engineers could figure out an oil drain/oil filter design that would allow for a clean, quick oil change. SMH!

Ya, changing the oil is messy enough without it running off the lower unit in three different directions. And… with the price of kickers these days you would think the factory would install an hour meter somewhere on the motor. So, instead of guessing at the recommended 100 hour oil change this time on my latest kicker, I installed a $10 hour meter and have been super surprised at the hours... and amount oil changes I should have been doing on my previous kickers.

Yikes, how does one drain a garbage can full of water?
