I've always run tiller boats, but IMVHO, if you don't go close to max horsepower with a console boat, you are going to suffer with speed significantly. You have way more weight up front so you will plow more if you don't go max hp. I get 33-35 with my old Lund Pro Angler tiller with 60 2 stroke Mariner. But I think it is because it is propped right and the weight is distributed better.
