Thanks a ton for the replies! It sounds like I have been thinking about this correctly -- both wires from the Lowrance are connected to spades on the terminal block match the correct polarity. It appears that the bottom terminal block (ELECTRONICS TERMINAL) is for negative (black) leads and at least two of the terminals above that terminal are for positive (red) leads. Before connecting anything I have tested this logic with a multi-meter and it does not appear that there is any current running through the terminals...when I turn one of the switches (next to the terminal plate) on and test those while on I get a solid reading (12.3)...could it be that the open spades on the terminal block are attached to a switch (ACC) that needs to be turned on to get current? Thanks again for the help!
