Looking to get a kicker for my 09 620. It will probably be just a tiller with a connector bar to the big motor. I don’t troll very often but would like to have the option and also an insurance policy if something were to happen to the big motor in Canada or something. Anybody running a 8hp kicker or should I just get a 9.9 and be done? Also I’m hearing conflicting stories on what shaft length I need. I’ve been told 20” and 25”? I’m thinking 20” will be fine but thought I’d check here. What are you guys running?

25" shaft, you want the longest possible to give you the best thrust under your hull. Get the 9.9.
