I ran a Optimax for many years. Very good motor for me. I was told by a mechanic I trust to be sure to warm the motor well before taking off. I didn't ask why, only did as he said. I would warm mine for at least 5 minutes at the dock before taking off. As I said it was a good motor for me.

The price you are asking about won't matter, thats 6 years down the road things will change by then. a 2012 motor will also be 12 years old by then.
