Location: NE Ohio | no. each unit is its own GPS. even though you see the waypoints on one unit from the other unit you can only modify the waypoints on the unit it was created on. also, you will not see the WP from the other unit unless its on. i always turn them both on and run them all day, that way the tracks are there on both units. there is a "sleep" mode that you can put the unit your not using in that conserves battery usage but the units gps is still working and waypoints show up on the other unit. thats the way i use them together. i have two HELIX 10's bought this year so i hope its the same on your units.
