Check out a product called Tuff Coat. I used it on my restoration & it's pretty easy to work with & it's really tough stuff. I fiber glassed over all my plywood then applied it. After applying the Tuff Coat, I wondered if I needed all the glass work. I know it would save a lot of time & money. You might be ok just tabbing in the deck & compartment tops to the sides of the boat then Tuff Coating over it.

I cut some holes tonight for the kids pulls and the two coats of Tuff Coat was pretty thick and very tough. One thing nice about it is if it does wear, all you have to do is clean it up real good & apply another coat. I used two gallons for my boat & it was $90/ gal. It took less than 90 minutes to roll on each coat. Good luck..... TC
