Yes that is perfect, undo the splitter and run directly to the helix. If nothing changes then no issue if it does change I would retry the splitter. If it's good your good if not put a small a out of dialectic grease In The splitter connections.

Also you do not want a bundle of transducer cords with the extra, you want to have a 8 so that signal doesn't jump though the insulation because it's traveling parallel. It is not possible to jump enough information if it is going the opposite ways.
