Location: Northern Illinois		My main transducer is mega chirp does both 2d, si and di. I was told to purchase just a 2d shoot thru hull transducer for high speed readings so I did. I was also told that the unit will use the shoot thru hull for 2d automatically with the splitter cord from Humminbird. I haven't tried just the main transducer by itself. I guess if I isolate each one by unplugging the transducer it will tell me if one or the other is bad.
